This course provides an introduction to key concepts in the practice of digital photography from metering and exposure to composition and photographic aesthetics. Explore the relationship between ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Learn how to use shooting modes to control exposure, depth of field, and image sharpness and discover how these settings help to reveal/conceal action by freezing or blurring motion. By learning the language of the camera, students will gain the technical proficiency necessary to effectively capture and creatively interpret their subject of choice. A DSLR camera and tripod are recommended for this class. *This course will include local walks in and around downtown Phoenixville to explore camera techniques.
